Sintering for Answers
I recently listened to a interview about executable textbooks with Sam Ritchie and worked examples of the book Structure and Interpretation of Classical Mechanics. The library is called Emmy.
Most of the system compiles to clojurescript and can run in the browser thanks to the Small Clojure Interpreter, but you lose the full numeric tower and execution speed due to the interpreter. I thought of adding clojurescript support to Livebook but the runtime model is that every instantiation of a document runs in its own Erlang VM, which is more heavyweight than I'd like. Driving the client side notebooks with an Elixir server that provides document management and coordination struck me as a worthwhile idea to try out, and Sinter is the result.
